News recently hit me that Microsoft has stopped producing the Xbox one. Microsoft will now be focused on producing the Xbox series X and S. To be honest, I expected this earlier since it was almost out of touch.

Currently, people are having a difficult time trying to get their hands on the Xbox One. One of the reasons for this is the global pandemic. It is no news that the global pandemic affected a lot of the company’s production rates and Microsoft is not excluded.

Why Was the Xbox One Cancelled?

The question raging through the minds of individuals now would be why was the console discontinued. Well, as I said before, the production rate of Microsoft dropped massively in recent years due to the pandemic.

Scalper bots and supply chain issues have made it nearly impossible to find an Xbox series X or S to purchase. To improve the production of these consoles, the Xbox one was cancelled. There is really no way to sugarcoat it, the Xbox one was cancelled to make way for the series X and S.

Will Xbox One Games be Cancelled?

Yes, with the discontinuation of the Xbox one, all Xbox games development would be cancelled. According to The Verge, the senior director of Xbox console product marketing, Cindy Walker said “To focus on the production of Xbox Series X / S, we stopped production for all Xbox One consoles by the end of 2020.”

With that, all game developments and console production has been cancelled. Sony still hasn’t ended the production of PS4 consoles yet since the production of PS5. Maybe they would in the near future but till then, let’s keep our fingers crossed and enjoy the franchise.
